Dr. Olsheath Bowen is a specialist in Emergency Medicine. She completed her undergraduate medical degree at the Latin American School of Medicine, Faculty of Medical Science Las Tunas, Cuba. In 2010 Dr. Bowen joined the physician team at the Mount St John’s Medical Centre (MSJMC) as House Officer, and after a few years in this position, she continued her postgraduate training at the University of the West Indies at the Mona Campus in Jamaica to earn her Doctorate in Emergency Medicine, with international experience at the Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta Georgia. At the end of her residency training she returned to her home, Antigua and Barbuda, to continue practicing this most noble profession.
Dr. Bowen has been a member of the MSJMC staff for over 10 years, during which she also spent a few years in specialized training at the University Hospital of the West Indies. She currently heads the Emergency Department of the Mount Saint John’s Medical Centre where she provides quality emergency care to patients of all ages. For Dr. Bowen, providing emergency care is an opportunity to make a real difference in someone’s life.
An Antiguan native, Dr. Bowen is a member of the American College of Emergency Physician, Antigua and Barbuda Medical Association and Jamaica Emergency Medical Association. Dr. Bowen believes in continued education and quality health care for all.
